Don’t get too proud of that AQ score. The people that are defining Asperger’s syndrome are working from a symptom standpoint as is usual in the “science” of psychology. In this case they are mixing symptoms of systemizing behavior and a distaste for social bullshit into a list of symptoms for a “disease”. The systemizing questions are mostly credible, whereas the social questions are mostly suspect. I’m rather sure the social questions which are suspect are what put your score so high. I doubt you scored high on the faux pas questions that are the most credible indicators of Austistic thought processes.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know. I just avoid social faux pas by staying home and keeping quiet. Which isn’t a very Autistic thing to do. But I still like you engineers best.

Staying home is in line with the behavior. You just don’t screw up enough when you’re out in public.
