Book #16 – Selected Poems of William Butler Yeats
Got in the mood to read some Yeats. I was surprised to find that my personal favorite wasn’t included in this slim Barnes & Noble edition. Nor in The Top 500 Poems anthology I have laying around. Nor in The Oxford Anthology of English Literature that I also have laying around. (The former was, as well as the B&N collection were, poor purchases. The latter I picked up for free from outside A Novel Idea–both volumes of it!)
But the internet is a wonderful thing:
Aedh Wishes For The Clothes Of Heaven
Had I the heavens’ embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.

“We are so drilled to think, ‘Oh, a meniscal tear — that must be painful,’ or ‘That’s the cause of the pain.’ But it may be involved in the disease process itself. There are many, many other reasons for pain in knee, but the meniscus is the structure we focus on and see.”
