It’s Monday, What Are You… (2/12)

…Reading?

Hunger: A Memoir of (My) Body Frankenstein Dreams: A Connoisseur's Collection of Victorian Science Fiction
On the Wrong Track Plutarch: Lives of the noble Grecians and Romans

I’m about 50% through all of these except for the Plutarch. I’ve scheduled Plutarch to take eight months.

…Listening To?

Right this minute: Avalon by The Huntress and the Holder of Hands. Just a taste: “Shake Off Your Flesh.”

…Doing?

I’m a broken record, but the thing I’m spending time on other than reading is ultimate. This week is the last for Winter AB League. I have two games this week with finals on Saturday. In the meantime, registration for Spring League is going on. Games for that are scheduled to begin next week(!). And also, Eric and I are trying to get a couple days of running in. His master’s club team has been invited to the world championship in Winnipeg this summer, so he’s working to get into shape for that. I’m running and throwing too because, well, it’s good for me and my playing ability too.

Enjoying the “First Nights” set of music classes from edX. The first was “First Nights: Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo and the Birth of Opera.” I knew nothing about opera, but now I know a little more. The class also offered a nice bit of history to go along with a little music theory.
