I’m not off to a great start for the month. I’ve DNFed two books in a row. Maybe I’m just grumpy or in a picky mood…
- The Three-Body Problem by Liu Cixin – I know this is currently a favorite for a lot of readers, but I’m already on the fence about it.
- The Nutcracker and the Mouse King by E. T. A. Hoffmann – Christmas in March? Sure. Hoffmann is weird enough that I probably won’t notice.
- Short stories including “Pythias” by Frederik Pohl (for DMI), “The Adventure of the Reigate Puzzle” by Arthur Conan Doyle and “The Mullenville Mystery” which might be by Julian Hawthorne.
I’m a bit behind today. The end of last week was slow. Then Eric and I spent Saturday/Sunday house/niece sitting, so the weekend was somewhat truncated. And I decided we should go out to dinner today. The Thirsty Lion has its St. Patrick’s Day menu going on; I had the cornbeef mac & cheese. Tasty, but a slight time investment.
