Who am I:

I am Katherine Nabity. I am not a privacy policy expert. The following is valid and true to the best of my knowledge.

The Writerly Reader (katenread.wordpress.com) is a single-author blog maintained by me. This blog contains musings about/reviews of books, movies, television, music, and magicians as well as personal anecdotes and opinions about subjects not covered in the above categories.

Review materials are provided by my own personal collection, NetGalley, and direct contact with a creator.

What personal data might be collected, why it’s collected, what will and won’t be done with it:

Comments, “Likes”, Follow

Name and Email are required to leave a comment on this blog. The reason behind this policy is to cut down on the amount of spam comments that are posted. Website address is optional. Additionally, WordPress.com records the IP address of commenters. Please, refer to WordPress.com’s Privacy Notice to Visitors to User’s Sites.

I will never use email addresses collected by the comment section of this blog to maintain a list of email addresses or to solicit business. Because this blog is part of a social media platform, I may use the website addresses submitted to visit said website. If requests for contact (review request, etc.) are made in the body of a comment, I will use information such as email address collected by the comment form to contact the author of the comment if no other contact information is provided.

Similarly, name and website addresses are recorded by WordPress.com when this blog is “Follow”-ed or a post “Like”-d. Because this blog is part of a social media platform, I may use the website addresses submitted to visit said website.

Log files, cookies, beacons

These things are handled by WordPress.com. Please, refer to WordPress.com’s Privacy Notice to Visitors to User’s Sites.

Embedded Content from Other Sites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
