I think I might finally have a handle on the Gaent relationship thing. We’ll see what Eric says. I’ve been dribble-drabble working on it since about 11:30 last night. It went easier today when I put on Abney Park and Sisters of Mercy. I still don’t understand why this book’s soundtrack is Goth.

Eric’s busy today. He worked through lunch and therefore had no disc clothes with him. Even him meeting up with me at TSC sounded sketchy, and I did nothing to encourage disc participation. It’s windy and I’m a bit bummed about the lack of activity on the part of my teammates. There hasn’t even been an email about anything since the beginning of January. I guess I’m not helping by not showing up. *shrug*

Anyway, went for a run instead to burn off the Red Bull giddiness. To the soccer field, seven times around (wide enough to avoid the soccer guys) and back from the soccer field.
Here’s what I’ve been listening to on my runs:

Reinforcing a minor character’s importance can be a difficult thing to do…

I have been challenged to finish Model Species by the end of the month. We’re within striking distance of finishing a “first draft.” We’ll still have to clean up a few things, maybe add a few things, but we’ll have a set-aside version by November. (If I kick major ass in the next two weeks.) November brings NaNoWriMo and WFC. The plan is to knock out 50K serviceable words on the next book. Eric’s already doing some of the planning for it. As though fall wasn’t busy enough.

I am, of course, in firm procrastination mode.

The weather is cool and rainy. I want nothing more than to curl up with a book (not my own).

Amenable music this morning:
Massive Attack, Mezzanine
Dave Brubeck, “Take Five”
David Bowie, Low
Sisters of Mercy, First, Last, and Always
The Judybats, Pain Makes You Beautiful

Watching Se7en again. One of the “playlist” of movies during this novel. Se7en, Red Dragon, Quills, Dangerous Liaisons, The Talented Mr. Ripley, The End of the Affair. Identity, deception, and detection. Good stuff. I’ve been wanting to watch Stir of Echos, but it’s hard to watch things on VHS now. The TV makes them look…bad.

For now, my physical goal is to play Ultimate Frisbee well into my forties. And if I didn’t have enough reasons:

Having been an overweight teen, it’s good to know that “researchers say that studies have shown that vascular problems due to obesity can be reversed by losing weight and increasing exercise.”

And while I’m not elderly yet, Regular Exercise Fights Pain in Elderly, means that what I’m doing now, and will continue to do, will not go to waste.

Now if I could just find recipes that make tofu taste better…

Eric has tasked me with getting 10K done this month. I needed to be tasked…

776 done today, and it seems to be a good day to kill off characters, major and minor.
